Former amenity parkland, now managed by Basildon Council primarily for wildlife. It features a large meadow that is cut for hay once a year and as a result is developing a diversity of wild flowers. The islands of trees, the mature hedgerows and the young woodland offer feeding and nesting opportunities for small birds, while the rough grass and scrub is good for small mammals, which in turn attract birds of prey looking for food.
